Please join us for our annual Open House, as we ring in the holiday season with our 60th anniversary of making handcrafted Christmas ornaments. We invite you to bring family and friends and browse the original works of art on display, join us for a cup of cinnamon spiced wassail, and enjoy the warmth of farmhouse.

Guests can browse a variety of our well-loved Barker Ornaments and Old World Santas by folk artist Elaine Roesle. Also available will be pottery by master potter Gail Springer, prints and original artwork by Marjorie Bowers, and “Swittens” and fashion accessories by textile artist Pat Gifford. You are sure to be inspired by the art work created by developmentally disabled artists from the “Inside Out Studio” where art radiates from the inside out.

Barker Ornaments is a unique family business that is rich in history and holds a special place in the community of Oxford, Ohio. The family tradition of making wooden ornaments began in 1953 when Marjorie and Charles Barker made the first wooden Christmas Ornaments for their children’s tree. Today, their son Ralph proudly carries on the tradition of creating wooden ornaments with an emphasis on quality.

Barker Ornaments operates in the family’s historic farm, the Brown Homestead, built in 1848. The ornament workshop is located on the property in a renovated 115 year old dairy barn. The Barker family has crafted hundreds of designs and adds new ornaments to the collection each year. Today Barker Ornaments hand on Christmas trees all over the world, establishing traditions and creating memories.
